Famba is an on-demand driver service. We provide a professional driver to drive you in the comfort and safety of your own vehicle, followed by a support vehicle to ensure a seamless transition and security throughout the journey.
Unlike standard services where you ride in a stranger's car, Famba allows you to stay in your own vehicle. This is ideal for car owners who want to enjoy their own interior, sound system, and privacy while being driven by a professional.
During our pilot phase, we focus on the Johannesburg North hub, specifically servicing a 5km–15km radius around Sandton, Rosebank, and Bryanston.
Vehicle-related
Every Famba Driver undergoes a rigorous vetting process, including criminal background checks and advanced driving assessments. Additionally, our drivers perform a Visual Condition Scan of your vehicle via our app before the trip begins to document its status for your peace of mind.
If you have opted into our Accident-Waiver (R30), Famba takes legal responsibility for third-party claims and damages up to R1,000,000. While your primary vehicle insurance handles the car repairs, our policy through iTOO SureThing acts as a shield against third-party legal liability and recovery claims.
The support vehicle follows your car for the entire duration of the trip. Its role is two-fold: it provides perimeter security for the driver and client, and it serves as the logistics hub to pick up the driver once your trip is completed, so they never have to linger at your destination.
